Fashion is not a popularity contest. It's not about what looks good, what everyone else likes, what's new, what's in. True trendsetters are bold, tasteful, and visionary. Their looks don't need to be accepted or even understood. The aesthetic object should be one of pure function and art, not mass appeal. Fashion should emulate a way of life, not just personal taste. An elderly man's woolen navy vest paired with weathered olive trousers and an ancient plaid flat cap is a statement of style because it is an exhibition of the person he his.

I ate too much today. I'm often supremely dissatisfied with myself. I enjoy the company of good friends but I can be a reclusive hermit at times. I love my baby brother (not actually a baby, he's 12) more than anyone/anything in this world. I idolize my dad--he is my ultimate role model. Can't wait for the future to become the present.
